The Power of Positive Thinking
By Sharon Cao
Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will. Some people give up their lives due to simple reasons, and they do not overcome their problems because their minds occupy negative thinking.
The rate of people who commit suicide in Japan increased significantly from October 2020. As per a report from the Japanese Government number of people who commit suicide is higher than people affected by the Corona Virus. The main reason that leads to this problem in Japan is people who cannot overcome pressure from their life, and negative thinking leads them to these harsh decisions. The reason why people commit suicide can have a couple of reasons such as family issues, financial issues, relationship issues, or even mental or traumatic phases. When people tend to overthink, they phase into the negative space, which causes them to consider committing suicide rather than face them.
The appropriate method to balance life would be to find happiness in small things and practice to control your emotions, which leads to positive thinking. According to Crystal Raypole, positive thinking will produce oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin, which assist people to be happier and feeling optimistic. You might also become less critical of the world around you. When your state of mind is healthy, you’re better able to handle everyday stress more constructively. As per Jame Clear (behavior psychologist), positive thoughts can create a real valuation in your life and help you build skills that last much longer than a smile.
How to create positive thinking? Here are some tips:
- Focus on important things, no matter how small
- Practice Gratitude
- Spend time with positive people
- Start every day with positive affirmation
- Find humor in bad situations
Based on the research of Anatoli Chernyaev — Another leading expert on positive psychology, Shawn Anchor, studied the connection between our thoughts and job success. His research has shown that when we are in a positive state of mind, our brain work is 31% more productive than when we experience negative or neutral emotions.
Positive thoughts and emotions do not only influence our productivity; their positive influence extends to all the levels of work performance like engagement, creativity, effectiveness.
Start training your mind, do not make things complicated by yourself, take it easy, and be positive. Read something positive every night, and listen to something helpful every morning, be strong because things will be getting better. “It may be stormy now, but it never rains forever,” said Tiny Buddha. The mind is everything, but don’t let it manipulate you to let yourself fall into the trap it makes. What you think you become and chasing for that will help you overcome negativity, wake up and start to do it right away. When you overthink your problems, you will get entangled in more complicated situations. When you focus on possibilities, you get more opportunities. Give no place to worry, no place for fearlessness. The people who succeed are not the one who avoid failure, but they are one who learned how to respond to the situation with an optimistic attitude
For the young generation, especially young women, I hope this topic can help them understand the importance of positive thinking. Being an optimistic person is fundamental to being successful in the future.
